Courage & Growth

My yoga journey started as a child with a passion for gymnastics and dance. As a teenager I've developed a keen interest in Indian culture, buddhist meditation, esoteric traditions and vegetarianism. I attended my first Hatha Yoga class after moving to London in 2004 and got inspired! When I practiced yoga I experienced a sense of deep relaxation which helped relieve mental tension, a profound feeling of energetic expansion and a connection to the present moment. Something in me shifted, I liked and accepted myself more and developed a desire for new state of self embrace to be constant. I decided to study and understand the science of yoga. The path of Hatha and Iyengar yoga method have been my closest companion as I moved through the worlds of Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Kundalini Yoga.

I travelled to India to fully focus on yoga and gain the knowledge to become a Yoga Instructor. I started from Nasik and studied at the Yoga Vidya Gurukul Institution 'Yoga Point' where I gained a Diploma in Yogic Education. In Arambol I came across Sharat Arora, the founder of Himalayan Iyengar Yoga, with whom I completed an Intensive Chakra Course and Teacher Training in Daramshala. My India adventure took me to Rishikesh, Ladhak and Kathmandu in Nepal where I continued my self practice as I took the classes of yoga with many renowned local yoga teachers.

Upon returning to London I was certified in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga style with Yoga London. I decided to expand my knowledge and studied with Uma Dismore-Tuli, Yoga Nidra Network, Judith Hanson-Lasater, Angela Farmer and Carrie Owerko. Nevertheless, m
y love and practice remained Iyengar Yoga technique. I have decided to dedicate my teaching vocation to it in 2022 and have embarked on three years long training with level 3 Iyengar Yoga teacher, Aubrey Maasdorp, to become a certified teacher of this method. I'm enjoying greatly every moment of it.

My weekly classes are based on classical Hatha Yoga inspired by Iyengar Yoga style. I provide hands on adjustments if required and keep the focus on understanding correct alignment to prevent injuries rather than speed and competitiveness. My interest with current research on fascia and somatic therapy give to my classes a unique flavour of embodiment.

I include a short chant, pranayama practice, restorative poses, flowing sequences and mindful warm up movements into my teaching. There is always room for creativity, personalised variations and use of props when needed. I'm confident to assist and support those for whom yoga is new and those who are ready to further their practice.
